This year’s CLEW (Continuing Legal Education Weekend) will be held in-person on Friday, May 31st, Saturday, June 1st, and Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 at The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa in Manchester Village, Vermont.

CLE programming will cover Cross-Border Financing, the Corporate Transparency Act, and the Gotchas that Getcha, as well as our renowned annual updates on UCC/Commercial Law, Bankruptcy and Ethics. This year’s panelists include a number of nationally renowned speakers including Judge Michael B. Kaplan (U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of N.J.), Ed Smith (Morgan Lewis), Steven Weise (Proskauer), and Paul Zumbro (Cravath). We will also have our annual golf tournament following our Saturday morning CLE programs.

The $1,850 registration fee includes programming for 10 CLE credits (8 credits in the areas of Professional Practice and 2 credits in Ethics and Professionalism), double occupancy room and the following activities for members and one guest: Friday lunch, Friday evening cocktail party, Saturday breakfast, cocktail party and dinner, and Sunday breakfast.

The Equinox is a four-season resort and playground for outdoor adventurers, offering a diversity of activities for every inclination. This beautiful destination offers everything from elegant accommodations in the Main Inn, the scenic 1927 Walter Travis golf course, a variety of onsite dining options for a taste of New England, a spa, and on-site activities including falconry, fly fishing and off-road excursions.

On Friday May 31, 2024, the education programs commence at 1:00 pm, with light lunch and refreshments provided, followed by a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception. Friday night, guests may gather with friends on their own to sample one of the restaurant venues at the Resort, or even venture into town for a variety of other dining options.

Breakfast is offered on Saturday for attendees, with classes to begin at 8:00 am continuing through noon. In the afternoon, we will have our annual golf tournament at an additional cost of $150 per person. Saturday night will be a very special ACFA group dinner at the Resort’s Dormy Grill, overlooking views of the golf course and Manchester’s Green Mountains.

Sunday will commence with a group breakfast, and classes starting at 9:00 am and concluding at 11:00 am.

Attendees are encouraged to review the Resort’s website, which provides a wealth of information, and to make independent dining, spa and specialized activity reservations in advance.

CLE Credit Information:
Attorneys who are members in good standing of ACFA will be entitled to ten credits (eight credits in areas of Professional Practice and two credits in Ethics and Professionalism) for attending all CLE presentations. Members admitted in other jurisdictions with CLE requirements should consult with the appropriate bar organization for that jurisdiction. The CLE presentations are non-transitional in nature. The New York State Continuing Legal Education Board has certified AFCA as an accredited provider of continuing legal education in the state of New York. ACFA has a financial hardship policy, the details of which can be obtained by contacting ACFA.
